1 Kings chapter 15 records in order the reigns of Abijam and Asa of southern Judah and of Nadab and Baasha of northern Israel. Abijam, Nadab, and Baasha followed the sins of the kings before them, but Asa removed the idols and did what was right before God. Yet Asa, too, failed to remove the high places, and to resolve the war with northern Israel he used the treasures of the temple as a means of diplomacy.
